The software should be able to do the following: – Exchange files between the N82 and the PC – Perform automatic synchronization between the N82 and MS Outlook on the PC calender, contacts, tasks accoding to a user defined schedule – Write SMS messages on the PC and send them through the moblie – Not a must, but a nice to have feature would be the capability to manage phone numbers stored on the N82’s SIM card Which programs can be recommended for this?

As you mentioned only standard message folders will be visible for all phone, but fewer even some lower handsets than Nokia n 82 handset’s subfolders may visible in nokia communication centre.
This is phone dependent. I eventually found the Advanced Tab in Nokia Communications Centre why can’t the developers put all the option tabs together?! Had a look through the different tabs but there is no more of my information there.
Customising the view gave me the FAX Number, but that is a standard field, not a customised field. I tried to send a Business Card from Nokia Communications Centre but the software would not send the Business Card or allow me to save it to the phone – presumably some communications problem with the phone – will need to have another go when I am less tired! I created these foilders in the Nokia N82 phone, not the PC Suite or Communications Centre, so if the PC Suite cannot support these features after the phone has been out for 12 months, that is pretty naff performance from Nokia.
I will try and contact Nokia tomorrow, but their email for the German Service I live in Germany and it won’t let me use the UK Customer Service doesn’t even let me select N82 as a phone option and then the email won’t send because it tells me that both my Mobile and Land line numbers are not valid!!?
